SC Directs Govt Organizations To Devise Mechanisms For Payment Of Pensions

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Nov, 2016 ) : The Supreme Court Monday directed the government and semi government organizations to devise mechanisms for payment of pensions to the retired employees.
The court also directed to devise mechanisms and ensure payment of pensions in one month. A three-member bench of the court headed by Justice Mian Saqib Nisar heard the suo moto notice case regarding delay in payment of pensions to retired employees.
During the course of proceedings, a 74 year old retired employee appeared before the court and stated that he was receiving Rs 4000 pension while another petitioner appeared and informed that 3000 retired employees of Local Bodies Rawalpindi did not receive pension since last six months.
Justice Saqib Nisar remarked that courts decided case on merit and it could not increase pension. The court also directed the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited to submit report regarding implementation of court orders in 15 days.
