Senior Minister for Youth Affairs, Sports and Archaeology Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Atif Khan on Tuesday accorded approval to establishment of Female Youth Centre at Peshawar

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Jan, 2019 ) :Senior Minister for Youth Affairs, sports and Archaeology Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Atif Khan on Tuesday accorded approval to establishment of Female Youth Centre at Peshawar.

The Female Youth Centre will be established at Hayatabad with an estimated cost of Rs 42 million.

The Centre will have facilities for gym and yoga, a state-of-the-art theater, rooftop cafe, children play area, table and board games and virtual E-games facilities.

The Minister gave approval to the project while chairing a meeting of the Youth Development Commission. The meeting was attended by Additional Secretary, Babar Khan and Director Youth Affairs, Asfandyar Khattak besides members of the Commission.

The meeting decided to include wheelchair race and archery games for the disabled persons. The meeting also decided to introduce a new scheme with the name "Books on Vehicles" to invigorate the trend of book reading among the youth.

Under this new scheme, the Youth Affairs Department would acquire books from National Book Foundation and distribute the same among the students of schools and colleges.

The meeting further decided to kick off a heedful campaign at college and university levels against use of Ice drug and spread information among students regarding its destructive effects so that to save the young generation from this curse.

The Senior Minister on this occasion included Komal Khan from Abbottabad district as member of the Youth Development Commission to offer representation to the disabled persons in the Commission. Denial Hayat, the recipient of Vladimir Putin Presidential Award was also awarded membership of the Commission.

He directed the authorities concerned to make elaborate arrangements forthe upcoming Youth Carnival in tribal districts and accord sufficientrepresentation to the youth of new merged tribal districts in this event.
