Shopkeepers Fined For Overcharging In Upper Dir

Assistant Commissioner (AC) Abdul Wali Khan has urged traders and shopkeepers to ensure edible items at government's prescribed rates to extend relief to masses during the holy month of Ramadan.
UPPER DIR, May 28(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th May, 2018 ) :Assistant Commissioner (AC) Abdul Wali Khan has urged traders and shopkeepers to ensure edible items at government's prescribed rates to extend relief to masses during the holy month of Ramadan.
He along with other concerned officials of the district administration visited different bazaars of Upper Dir and checked prices of various commodities. He also imposed fine on those shopkeepers who were charging customers more than prescribed rates.
The raiding team also visited butchers' shops and inspected hygiene conditions.
Strict action would be taken against elements that were found involved in overcharging customers, he reiterated. He instructed to take action against shopkeepers for not displaying price list at prominent place.
He directed the relevant officials to pay visit regularly to city's markets and ensure that retailers sold items of daily use at prescribed rates. He said no one would be allowed to create artificial shortage of commodities through unethical business practices like hoarding, adding that hoarders would be dealt with iron hand.
