Six Killed As Bus Plunges Into Chashma Canal

At least six passengers lost their lives when their bus plunged into Chashma Right Bank Canal (CRBC) at Wahuwa Monday morning.
According to Rescue 1122 sources, Bahawalpur-bound was on its way from Wahuwa when it skidded off the road and fell into Chashma canal. As a result six passengers including Mistri Hidayat, son of Khaliq Dad, Yasin s/o Allah Bux, Zulqarnain s/o Altaf Hussain, Sadaqat Ali s/o Ali Muhammad, Humayon Rasheed s/o Rasheed Ahmed and Samiullah s/o Ghulam Qasim died.
Sources said that 22 passengers were travelling in the bus, out of whom eight were rescued while operation was under way to recover other eight passengers from the canal.
The Rescue sources said that eight vehicles participated in the operation, adding that rescue operation was still in progress to find out the missing passengers.
The rescue sources feared that death toll might rise as the accident took place in the morning and eight passengers were still missing.
