Two Meter Readers Suspended

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Oct, 2023) Lahore Electricity Supply Company (LESCO) has suspended two meter readers

on the charges of neglecting their duties in Kot Abdul Malik Sub-Dision.

The LESCO spokesman told media here Wednesday that both the officials were conniving

in the electricity theft while neglecting their duties. As part of its ongoing grand anti-power theft campaign

under the supervision of LESCO Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Engineer Shahid Haider, an inspection

team of the company detected two fake power meters in Tayyaba Colony, he said and added that both the meters were purchased from the market. After detecting facilitation to electricity thieves, the company suspended the relevant meter reader and initiated departmental inquiry against him.

In the same colony, the inspection also found another power meter that was reversed to cheat the LESCO. The company also suspended the meter reader concerned and is taking departmental action against him.

Meanwhile, another inspection team conducted a search operation in Burj Attari area and checked 105 connections out of which four connections were found to be stealing power from the direct supply of LESCO. All four connections have been disconnected and cases have been registered against the accused while four accused have also been arrested by the area police.
