Veteran Actress Shamim Aara Passes Away In London

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th August, 2016) : Veteran actress Shamim Aara passed away on Friday in London after long illness which is confirmed by the family. She was 78. The Lollywood actress of 50s and 60s, a famous film producer, was under treatment in London since she suffered a brain haemorrhage in 2010. The artiste underwent a brain surgery but did not fully recuperate and went into coma.
Her first film Kunwari Baywa did not yield much success at the box office, but the role gained her a lot of respect.
Shortly after that, she got a string of hit films under her name, such as Devdas, Doraha, Humraz and other films. Shamim Ara's contribution was not only limited as an actor but she had also contributed as a director and producer to the film industry of Pakistan. She has been living with her son in London now a days.
