LAHORE (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / NNI - 08th March, 2019) The Punjab Information Technology board (PITB)s project Peaceful Pakistan in partnership with Molty Foam observed Womens Day participated by speakers and trainers from different walks of life debating women empowerment and their role in the society here on Friday.The event, titled Women of Strength celebrated seasoned professionals, who significantly contributed towards endorsing women empowerment and have defied stereotype to create a gender-balance society.The keynote speakers included Justice (Retired) Nasira Iqbal, Michelle Chaudhry, President of Cecil and Iris Chaudhry Foundation, and Nayab Jan, Head of business Development & External Relations at CSC Empowerment & Inclusion Program.for Better, Peaceful Pakistan.The interactive session, that included audience from both genders, discussed the role of both men and women in creating a gender-balanced society.

It particularly discussed topics such as wages gap, glass ceiling effect. Justice Nasira, while sharing her success story, and challenges faced by women; she enlightened the audience on various legal issues.In addition to this, Michelle Chaudhry shared inspirational stories of downtrodden women who have become an epitome of women empowerment.

Counselling to the women to be self-reliant and economically independent. Women have a significant role to play in building a progressive and peaceful society, she added.Nayab Jan, who is dedicated to empowering women economically, spoke about the socio-economic uplift of women in Pakistan.

She particularly discussed womens economic empowerment, women and technology, women and their mobility, among others.
