Zainab’s father to sue channel for making telefilm ‘Zainab k qatil’

Zainab’s father said that the TV channel did not ask for his permission before announcing to make a telefilm on her daughter’s tragedy

Lahore (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 11th May, 2018) The father of eight-year-old Zainab, who was murdered after being raped earlier this year in Kasur, has announced to register a case against the tv channel which was going to make a telefilm on the incident.

Zainab’s father Amin Ansari said that the TV channel did not ask for his permission before announcing to make a telefilm on her daughter’s tragedy. He said that he cannot let anybody use his daughter’s name for personal gains.

Moreover, Ansari has also decided to register a case against a private British organization for using Zainab’s name for their interests. He said that her daughter has nothing to do with this NGO, they are using Zainab’s name only to mint money. The father said that the British NGO visited Kasur and recorded videos in our area. They also met with Zainab’s teachers and class mates in her school at Munir Shaheed Colony, he said, and added that they also didn’t take his permission like the TV channel.

A private TV channel had announced to make a telefilm over the tragic incident of eight-year-old Zainab who was murdered after being raped in Kasur earlier this year.

The title of the telefilm was decided as ‘Zainab k qatil’ (Zainab’s murderers).

The incident was much highlighted on national and international media, receiving condemnations from all segments of society. Protests were held across the country to give strong punishment to the culprit. A capital punishment was demanded for Zainab’s murderer Imran. #JusticeforZainab kept trending and the nation has still not gotten over the incident.

Sources said that all the events of Zainab murder case will be filmed while the telefilm will also aim to provide awareness to the parents to protect their children.
