Jointly authored by Taher Memon and Salim Pervez, 'Another Perspective' a book on history and development of cricket in Pakistan was launched Saturday here
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ehsan Mani was the chief guest at the book launching ceremony that was also attended by Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Almas Hyder and people from different walks of life.
On this occasion, Taher Memon mentioned that the book contained the memorable events of developing days of cricket in Pakistan with writers making a sublime attempt to highlight the evolution and transformation of the game to the modern day cricket.
He announced that all earnings from the book would be donated to Hoonermand Foundation, an organization working for families living below the poverty line to enable them to improve thier living standard.
"This has spurred me to bring forth the efforts made off the field during promotion of cricket," he said, while introducing his book in the company of leading sports personalities.
He admitted that as a marketing man who helped initiating the famous Wills Cup and a leading organizer, it had always been his endeavour to complete the job in a professional way.
Ehsan Mani said that it had always been a challenge to organise matches and the real servers of the game worked day and night to ensure holding of international matches in the best possible way. "We almost started from scratch and developed every bit that helped the game of cricket flourish in the country despite lack of facilities which had been there from 1977 to 1998.
Other speakers were of the view that the book communicated not only knowledge but also wisdom of all kinds. They added that all aspects of cricket evolution in Pakistan had been depicted in a book that would surely help future policy-makers to see as from where they had started.
LCCI President Almas Hyder hailed Taher Memon as a true professional marketing man and practically proved that marketing could do miracles in all sectors whether it was business or sports.
