Peshawar, Bahawalpur Storm Into PPL Blind Cricket Final

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Nov, 2018 ) :Peshawar and Bahawalpur stormed into the 2nd Pakistan Petroleum Ltd (PPL) Blind cricket Trophy-2018 being played here at Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium on Friday.
The final of the event will be played on Saturday. In the first match Peshawar won the toss and put Islamabad into bat. Ayub Khan gave a brisk start to their side and both openers Ayub and Badar Munir scored quick fifties. They took Islamabad team score to 143 runs in 10 overs but their dismissals checked the free scoring and remaining wickets fell like the house of cards.
Islamabad was bowled out to 205 runs in 19.5 overs. Ayub Khan made 69 runs off 24 balls, and Badar Munir scored 57 off 31 balls. Rahid Ullah was the most successful bowler for Peshawar he took 3 wickets for 26 runs in 4 overs.
Peshawar chased the target of 206 runs with ease in 15.1 overs for the loss of 2 wickets.
Nisar Ali talked with the bat and remained unbeaten of 102 off 55 balls. Peshawar won by 8 wickets while Nisar Ali was declared Man of the Match.
In the second semi-final Abbottabad won the toss and put Bahawalpur into bat. Muhammad Rashid, in-form batsman of Bahawalpur fell cheaply, but Zafar Iqbal and Moeen Ali didn't spare the opponent bowling Attack and piled up huge total of 325 runs for the loss of 2 wickets. Moeen Ali made splendid 138 runs off 62 balls and Zafar Iqbal made dazzling 102 runs off 41 balls. Matiullah and Arsalan claimed a wicket a piece.
Abbottabd, chasing a huge total of 326 runs, managed to score only 204 runs and bowled out on 19.4 overs. Matiullah scored 52 runs off 24 balls. Sajid Nawaz took 2 wickets, Rashid, Zafar Iqbal and Shahzaib claimed one wicket each. Bahawalpur won the match by 110 runs. Moeen Ali was declared as Man of the Match.
