The Pakistan Football Federations (PFF) former Secretary General Hafiz Suleman Butt Thursday asked FIFA to resolve the national federations dilemma in a bid to revive the game of football in Pakistan
ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Oct, 2017 ) :The Pakistan Football Federations (PFF) former Secretary General Hafiz Suleman Butt Thursday asked FIFA to resolve the national federations dilemma in a bid to revive the game of football in Pakistan.
Speaking at a press conference here at a local hotel, he praised FIFAs decision to ban PFF saying it is a step in the right direction. FIFA must constitute a committee which conduct PFFs elections so that the new body should take charge of the game, he said.
It may be mentioned here that FIFA suspended PFF on Wednesday on account of undue third-party interference. The decision was taken as a result of the fact that the PFF offices and its accounts remain in control of a court-appointed administrator, which constitutes a violation of the PFF obligations to manage its affairs independently and without influence from any third parties in accordance with the FIFA Statutes.
The suspension will be lifted once the PFF offices and access to the PFF accounts are returned to the PFF. Suleman criticized Faisal Saleh Hayat, former PFF President, saying after FIFAs decision he tried to give a personal angle to the whole situation which is totally wrong.
Faisal had been PFF president for almost 12 years and had done nothing for football but did corruption, he claimed.
He said FIFA allotted Pakistan seven goal projects out of which none had been completed.
Faisal had been misleading FIFA all this time and had been taking money as grants which were not at all used for the promotion of football in the country, he claimed and added Faisal took money from FIFA in order to redevelop a ghost stadium in Jhang.
Suleman said Faisal had been embezzling the money given by FIFA for national coaches. He said Maryam Nawaz and Captain (R) Muhammad Safdar had nothing to do with the game of football and their Names should not be involved in this matter.
He claimed that FIFA gave two years, from 2015 to 2017 to Faisal to make a new PFF constitution which he couldnt do so. Suleman said the suspension of former corrupt PFF officials will provide an opportunity to the organizers and footballers of the country to unite and start afresh the activities for promoting football.
Faisal and his partners will be punished for looting millions of rupees of poor Pakistani footballers. He strongly supported the decision of FIFA regarding handing over the Football House to the real representatives of football family.
