Citizens Advised To Take Precautionary Measures To Visit Murree, Adjacent Hilly Areas In Snowfall: RTP Advisory

In view of choking roads and massive rush in Murree and adjacent hilly areas, the City Traffic Police Rawalpindi have warned tourists of going to these places to avoid unnecessary hassle and fatigue
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 31st Jan, 2019 ) :In view of choking roads and massive rush in Murree and adjacent hilly areas, the City Traffic Police Rawalpindi have warned tourists of going to these places to avoid unnecessary hassle and fatigue.
Continued rainfall and snowfall had attracted thousands of tourists to these scenic sites that resulted in extra traffic load on roads with choking almost every artery linking Rawalpindi-Islamabad to these hilly spots.
Due to huge influx of tourists towards Murree, RTP issued an advisory here on Thursday which appealed the citizens to use their own line and avoid using dual line as preventive measures.
According to the advisory the tourist are requested to use petrol based vehicles and strictly prohibited to use CNG based vehicles which may cause problem in car due to extreme cold in snow.
In advisory the families with infants and asthma patients also advised to avoid travelling Murree during current spell of snow.
The visitors are advised to come with warm clothes and full fuel tanks and avoid unnecessary travel after 08:00 p.m.
Advisory further says that turn on your emergency lights and other lights of the cars as well and try to put a metal's chain on one of your tyre.
It also asked the tourist to strictly follow one way and don't violate it for smooth run of traffic.
The spokesman of RTP said that special traffic force has also been deputed on main sites of Murree to avoid any traffic incident to have soft traffic flow.
He said that Pakistan Meteorological Department (MET office)has predicted more rain and snow in coming days so the huge influx of tourist is eager to visit the resort.
He requested the tourists to follow the advisory to avoid any kind of inconvenience or incident to have safe tourism.
