MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 13th December, 2018) The German police are probing who called the suspect in the deadly Strasbourg shooting from Germany and why the call was made, media reported.
The suspect received that call right before opening fire on passersby at a Christmas market on Tuesday, the rbb Inforadio broadcaster reported, citing German security sources, late on Wednesday.
The outlet added that the suspect had not answered the call.
The broadcaster noted that the fact that the call was made by someone from Germany represented an additional factor proving the suspect's ties with Germany.
According to the French authorities, two people were dead, while one person was brain dead as a result of the shooting in Strasbourg. Moreover, 12 people have been injured in the incident.
The gunman has been identified by the French authorities as a 29-year-old local resident who has been known to the law enforcement before the incident.
