Leader of Ukraine's pro-European Fatherland (Batkivshchyna) party and former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, Ukrainian entertainer Volodymyr Zelensky, and Yuriy Boyko, the leader of Opposition Platform For Life party, are currently the front-runners in the nation's presidential campaign, while incumbent President Petro Poroshenko ranks only fourth in terms of projected support, according to the results of a survey published by the Ukrainian Institute of Analysis and Forecasting on Friday
According to the poll, if the presidential election took place "in the near future," 19.3 percent of respondents said they would vote for Timoshenko, 12.9 percent for Zelensky and 11.6 percent for Boyko.
The poll further revealed that 11.3 percent of respondents would vote for Poroshenko, while 11.1 percent would pick Anatoly Gritsenko, the leader of the Civil Position party, as their president.
They would be followed by Radical Party leader Oleg Lyashko with 9.1 percent, Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy with 4.5 percent and the candidate from the Ukrainian Association of Patriots (UKROP) party, Oleksandr Shevchenko, with 4.2 percent.
The remaining candidates would get less than 3 percent of support, according to the poll's results.
This survey was carried out among 2,016 respondents aged over 18 across Ukraine between December 26 and January 4.
In December, Tymoshenko was projected to win with 14.4 percent of the vote, Poroshenko with 10.8 percent, Zelensky with 9.4 percent and Boyko with 6 percent, according to data of the Ukrainian Center for Social and Marketing Research "SOCIS."
The Ukrainian presidential election is scheduled for March 31.
