'Efforts Under Way To Improve Farming System'

Advisor to CM Punjab on Agriculture Abdul Hai Khan Dasti on Saturday said that efforts were being made to improve farming system in the province.

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Oct, 2018 ) :Advisor to CM Punjab on Agriculture Abdul Hai Khan Dasti on Saturday said that efforts were being made to improve farming system in the province.

The agriculture department was seeking proposals for betterment of the agriculture sector, he said this while addressing a delegation of agriculture scientists who were conducting travelling seminars in different cities here.

Abdul Hai Dasti said that the government was pursuing a zero tolerance policy against sale of substandard pesticides and fake fertilizers. Similarly, a road map was being given recently for improvement of agriculture marketing system, he added.

He urged scientists to conduct research on such cotton varieties which were heat and drought resistance.

He said that research was inevitable for progress of the agriculture sector.

He also instructed officers to conduct competition on bumper and quality production of crops.

The delegation also inspected cotton crop at the Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture and Cotton Research Station.

Director Cotton Research Station Dr Sagher briefed the delegation about achievements of the station.

On this occasion, Vice Chancellor Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture Dr Asif Ali, Dr Shakeel and Naveed Asmat Kohloon were also present.
