FPCCI Opens Office In Gwadar To Augment Commercial Activities

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Sep, 2018 ) :The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has opened a regional office in Gwadar which was formally inaugurated on Monday.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by a large number of businessmen across the country, said a press release issued here.
The purpose of establishment of the office is to facilitate the entrepreneurs and augment the commercial activities in this port city, especially in the backdrop of China Pakistan Economic corridor (CPEC), which is accomplishment of the long desire of the business community.
Addressing at the inauguration of the regional office President FPCCI, Ghazanfar Bilour said that Gwadar was all set to serve as the trade and energy transportation hub as such anticipating the business activity in this port city FPCCI has opened a regional office which was a demonstration of serious interest of business community in economic development of Pakistan.
He said that Gwadar was undoubtedly an economic asset toward sustainable development of Pakistan and the region, especially in the context of CPEC, a US$ 65 billion project which is a flagship project of Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
Highlighting the importance of FPCCI Regional Office Gwadar, Syed Mazhar Nasir, Vice President FPCCI said that it would open new vistas for economic benefits of the this port which would not only be limited to the port activities like trans-shipment, containerized cargo but it would also provide opportunities for trade with landlocked Central Asian Republics and Afghanistan besides, promoting trade and transport with Western China.
He pointed out that FPCCI office would significantly contribute in the Gwadar Port activities and would also play an important role in reviving the historical trade route i.e. Silk Route providing transit to the Central Asian countries from Pakistan in terms of shortest route and low cost connectivity to middle East and Africa.
He remarked that apart from trade and industry, FPCCI office would also contribute in exploring the great potential for the development of tourism because of its azure water and attractive whitesandy beaches, temperate climate and friendly people.
