Minister Food Emphasizes Fair Weighing Of Sugarcane At Sugar Mills

Punjab Minister for Food Bilal Yaseen has categorically emphasized the need of fair weighing of sugarcane at sugar mills.
LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Jan, 2018) : Punjab Minister for food Bilal Yaseen has categorically emphasized the need of fair weighing of sugarcane at sugar mills. The Provincial Minister in whirlwind visits on Friday inspected 10 sugar mills located elsewhere in three districts and examined ongoing sugarcane procurement process. During meeting with district administration officials, peasant leaders and management of sugar mills at Faisalabad, Jhang, Athara Hazari, Toba Tek Singh and Shorkot, Bilal Yaseen said, “Let me clear that any injustice and exploitation of the growers would not be tolerated and anyone involved in such practice will be taken to task.” He warned, “We are in the field on special instructions by Chief Minister Punjab and monitoring of crushing season shall continue till the last day”.
However, the Minister Food expressed his satisfaction over actions taken by concerned district officials and further directed that on complaint lodged by growers immediate compensation is must. He also examined receipts (CPRs) on the spot and said any hurdle in the way of relief meant for sugarcane growers be removed within no time.
“Middlemen’s role and weighing scales complaints will be considered as failure of district official and departmental action will be taken against such persons” he concluded.
