Rosoboronexport Says To Partake In Exhibitions In Philippines, Egypt For 1st Time In 2018

The Russian defense industry exporter Rosoboronexport will for the first time participate in the Asian Defense and Security (ADAS) exhibition in the Philippines and the Egypt Defence Expo (EDEX) in 2018, the companys deputy director general, Alexander Shcherbinin, said.
MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 21st August, 2018) The Russian defense industry exporter Rosoboronexport will for the first time participate in the Asian Defense and Security (ADAS) exhibition in the Philippines and the Egypt Defence Expo (EDEX) in 2018, the companys deputy director general, Alexander Shcherbinin, said.
On Monday, Director of the Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation Dmitry Shugaev told Sputnik that Russia had been focusing on defense industry exhibitions in other regions since deciding not to showcase its military equipment at the Farnborough International Airshow in the United Kingdom due to restrictions set by the events organizers.
"Rosoboronexport will for the first time participate in the ADAS 2018 exhibition in the Philippines and the EDEX 2018 exhibition in Egypt," Shcherbinin said in an interview with the Natsionalnaya Oborona magazine, published on Tuesday.
In 2018, the company also plans to participate in the African Aerospace and Defence Expo (AAD) in South Africa, Azerbaijan International Defence Exhibition (ADEX), Indo Defence Expo and Forum in Indonesia, Airshow China and International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) in Pakistan, Shcherbinin pointed out.
"In 2019, Rosoboronexport will take part in over 20 international exhibitions in Russia and abroad," the official noted.
The ADAS exhibition will be held on September 26-28 in Manila. EDEX is scheduled for December 3-5 in New Cairo.
In July, Russian state corporation Rostec, which includes Rosoboronexport, said it would not participate in this years Farnborough airshow because the events organizers barred the military exporter from showcasing its products. Other Russian companies that produce military equipment followed suit.
