Russia Could Mediate Lebanon-Israel Disputes On Borders, Oil Deposits - Lebanon President

Russia could take the role of a mediator in resolving disputes between Lebanon and Israel on borders and oil and gas fields, Lebanese President Michel Aoun said
"Nothing forbids [Russia] to do this," Aoun told Russian reporters when asked whether Lebanon is considering a possibility of asking Russia to act as a mediator in resolving these disputes with Israel.
The president added that the Lebanese-Israeli issue is planned to be discussed with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo during his visit to Beirut on Friday.
"And based on what we can achieve, we will decide what we need," the president noted.
