KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Nov, 2017 ) :Shipping activity remained active at the Port where four ships, MSC Tomoko, APL Antwerp, Logonda and Greenwigh Park scheduled to load/offload Containers, 24,200 tonnes Cement and 19,014 tonnes Phosphoric Acid took berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi-Purpose Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Tuesday, November 21, 2017.
While on oil tanker Glorious carrying 39,950 tonnes Diesel oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim the same day. Fifty three percent berth occupancy was reported at the Port on Tuesday where a total of nine ships namely, MSC Tomoko, APL Antwerp, Logonda, Trade Will, Majestic Sky, Mogia, Greewigh Park, Yokon Star and Mezaira are currently occupying at berths to load/offload Containers Cement, Sun Flower seeds, Soya Bean seeds, Coal, Phosphoric Acid, Palm oil and Diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Cargo handling remained upward trend at the Port where a cargo volume of 156,648 tonnes, comprising 137,307 tonnes import cargo and 19,341 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 4,481 Containers (TEUs), (3,721 TEUs imports and 760 TEUs exports) was handled at the Port.
Oil tanker Mazaira sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while anchorage Chemicals carrier Greenwigh Park is expected to sail on same day. Two ships, Miltion Bell and Glorious carrying Coal and Diesel oil are expected to take berths at PIBT FOTCO respectively on Wednesday, 22nd November-2017, while two more ships CMA CGM Nerval and Xiamin with container are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Thursday.
