Shipping Activity At Port Qasim

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Jul, 2018 ) :Five ships, MSC Beijing, MSC Esthi, African Puffin, SBI Virgo and Stead Fast carrying Containers, Coal and Palm oil was allotted berth at Qasim International Container Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively during last 24 hours, said a report issued by Port Qasim Authority (PQA) here on Tuesday.
Meanwhile five more ships with Containers, Coal and LPG also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
A total of eight ships namely, MSC Beijing, MSC Esthi, Phoenix Nereid, African Puffin, SBI Virgo, Shan Dong Chong Wen, Stead Fast and Freight Margie are currently occupying PQA berths to load/offload Containers, Coal, Soya Been Seeds, Palm Kernel, Palm oil and Diesel oil respectively.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 145,570 tonnes, comprising 97,918 tonnes import cargo and 47,652 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,291 Containers (TEUs), (783 TEUs imports and 2,508 TEUs exports) was handled at the Port.
C.V MSC Beijing sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while two more ships MSC Esthi and Freight Margie are expected to sail on same day in the afternoon.
Seven ships, APL Savannah, Maersk Pittsburgh, MS Tiger, Castle Gate, Thomson Gas, Maran Gas Asclepius and Jo Pinari carrying Containers, Coal, LPG, LNG and Diesel oil are expected to take berths at QICT, PIBT, EVTL, EETL and FOTCO respectively on Tuesday, while another Container ship MOL Courage is due to arriveat Port Qasim on Wednesday.
