Shipping Activity At Port Qasim

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Nov, 2016 ) Five ships Maersk Genos, New Naxos, Lime Glaxy, Globe Tanya and Valor carrying containers, furnace oil, chemical, LPG and palm oil took berths at Qasim International, respectively on Wednesday.
Berth occupancy was reported at the port at 60% on Wednesday where a total of nine ships namely ships Maersk Genoa, MSC Silvana,Diamond Sea, Hoanya Wisdom, Cretan Wave, Lime Glaxy, Globe Tanya, Valor and New Naxos are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, rice, sun flower seeds, LPG, chemicals and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Cargo handling registered an upward trend at the port on Wednesday where a cargo volume of 137,618 tonnes, comprising 81,407 tonnes import cargo and 56,211 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 4,708 containers TEUs) 2,962 imports TUEs & 2,746 TUEs exports) was handled during last 24 hours.
Two ships, chemicals carrier Lime Glaxy and Container vessel MSC Silvana sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while two more ships, edible carrier Volar and container vessel Maersk Genoa are expected to sail on same day afternoon.
Two ships, CMA CGM Corneille and CT Confidence carrying containers and palm oil are expected to take berths at Container Terminal respectively on Thursday. While edible carrier Poloma is due to arrive at Port Qasim on same day, LNG carrier Gaslog Shanghai is due to arrive on Friday and container vessel TG Poseidon is due to arrive on Saturday.
