Extension training workshop on ‘Basic Principles of Animals Nutrition’ at UVAS

The University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore in collaboration with Agriculture Value Chain Collaborative Research (AVCCR) Dairy Beef Project funded by the Australian government organised a 3-day 2nd extension training workshop on “Basic Principals of Animal Nutrition”

LAHORE (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Jul, 2018 ) The University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore in collaboration with Agriculture Value Chain Collaborative Research (AVCCR) Dairy Beef Project funded by the Australian government organised a 3-day 2nd extension training workshop on “Basic Principals of Animal Nutrition”. Vice-Chancellor Meritorious Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha chaired the concluding session of the training workshop and distributed certificates among participantswhile Project Manager AVCCR Dr Hassan Mahmood Warraich, Mr Peter Wynn and a number of livestock professionals, farmers and participants from 22 organisations throughout Pakistan were present.

In his address, Prof Pasha said that livestock is the source of livelihood of poor farmers and key to socio economic development of Pakistan.

He said it is direly needed to provide basic facilities for extension services in terms of awareness of animal health, treatment, nutrition, modern idea of production, rural entrepreneur for the profitability of poor farming community. He thanked the Australian government for the successfully running of this project. Earlier, Mr Peter Wynn spoke about the project and village based entrepreneur model. He said that extension services are extremely important to improve livestock production and profitability of small holders. Dr HassanMahmood Warraich spoke about extension material, whole family approach, innovative way of extension, data collection working and model for capacity building of poor livestock farmers, etc.
