IIUI Holds Cultural Week's Activities, Sports Gala

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th May, 2018 ) :A prize distribution ceremony of 27th Cultural Week's activities and Sports Gala 2017-2018 held here at the auditorium, Fatima tuz Zahra Block, Female Campus of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI).
Deputy Mayor of Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad, Syed Zeeshan Ali and Prof Dr Ahmed Yousef Al Draiweesh, President, IIUI along with Dr Farkhanda Zia, Director Female Campus and Dr Nyla Jabeen, Students' Advisor (Female Campus), awarded cash prizes and shields among the top position holders of various competition, a press release Tuesday said.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Draiweesh said success of our cultural week has shown that IIUI is one of the leading international universities where not only quality education is being provided but also cultural promotion is its salient characteristic.
He also appreciated female students for their enthusiastic participation in various competitions and further wished for their success in future. He added that most important outcome of this cultural week is that we are united to work together with the zeal for the progress of Pakistan and Muslim Ummah.
He said we are thankful to delegates and diplomats of various countries who came in our mega event. Syed Zeeshan Ali, congratulated IIUI administration, faculty and students for organizing such healthy activities in female campus of the university and said that sports are binding force for any nation and promotion of sports in educational institutions will provide a bright future for students.
He added that women role plays pivotal for our success and it's our responsibility to put our utmost attention for women welfare. He called upon universities to act as nurseries for sportsmen and sportswomen.
Events including competitions in Athletics, skipping race, relay race, javelin throw, shot put, Discuss Throw, Table Tennis, Lawn tennsi, Badminton, cricket, Basket Ball, Tug of War, Futsal and Volleyball were held during the Interfaculty Sports Gala 2017-2018.
