Ministry Considers Surrendering Three Model Seminaries To Education Department

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Apr, 2018 ) :Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony was considering to transfer the management control of three model Dini madaris being run by the ministry to Federal Directorate of Education (FDE).
According to official sources of Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, three dini madaris including Model Dini Madrasah for Girls, Islamabad; Model Dini Madrassah for Boys, Karachi; Model Dini Madrassah for Boys, Sukkur were working under the administrative control of the ministry.
He said over Rs 156 million have been spent on three model dini madaris from the financial year 2014-15 to 2016-17. It may be mentioned here that Pakistan Madrassah Education Baord (PMEB) was established in 2001 in pursuance of the Madrasah reform policy.
The main purpose of establishing PMEB was to set up model Deeni Madaris and Dar-ul-Uloom having Islamic education as the main component with general education. He said the board's targets of conducting technical skill courses, establishing libraries in Islamic seminaries, formulating a curriculum for all the seminaries along with an examination system, and conducting teacher training programs, have not been achieved as the board never became functional.
A total of 650 students were being imparted education in three model Dini Madaris, As many as 370 students were getting education in Model Dini Madrassah for Girls, Islamabad, 150 at Model Dini Madrasah for Boys, Sukkur, 130 students are being imparted education in Model Dini Madrasah for Boys, Karachi, he concluded
