Quaid-i-Azam University To Hold Memorial Reference For Tariq Siddiqui On Friday

Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) is set to hold a memorial reference on Friday to pay tribute to its former Vice Chancellor Dr Tariq Siddiqui, for his services in education sector
Dr Siddiqui, who passed away recently, was an eminent scholar, bureaucrat, and educator, a press release said.
He also served as the vice chancellor of two leading universities, QAU and Allama Iqbal Open University. Earlier, he occupied a number of senior governmental positions, including Civil Services academy director general and Cabinet Division Federal Secretary.
Dr Siddiqui joined the Civil Services of Pakistan in 1955, and was widely admired by his colleagues for his erudition, professionalism, integrity, and courage. Dr Siddiqui was married to the late Dr Nigar Ahmed, founder of Aurat Foundation.
Speakers including QAU Vice Chancellor, Dr Muhammad Ali, former Finance Minister Sartaj Aziz, Higher Education Commission Chairman Dr Tariq Banuri, Special Adviser to the Prime Minister Dr Ishrat Husain and others would pay homage to Dr Siddiqui by shedding light on his services for the nation.
