KARACHI (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Apr, 2019 ) Usman Institute of Technology (UIT) affiliated with NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi, recently organized the UIT Drama Competition in collaboration with NAPA, where UIT Theatre students showcased their skills and talent.
The UIT Theatre students helps gifted pupils develop into talented individuals thereby allowing talented people to acquire a method that enables them to express their art in a unique way. The arts are an important feature of every culture and a cornerstone of developing well rounded individuals.
NAPA offers academic courses that are not available in other schools or universities the curriculum is designed to provide every student with a strong and broad foundation in the Performing Arts.
Both Music and Theatre Arts Departments consist of teacher-performers as well as academic instructors.
The objective is to empower the lives of students by helping to cultivate and foster in them an appreciation for the arts, music, dance and drama.
Director Zahir Syed of UIT stated that: “The performing arts are amongst the fields that play a vital role in keeping people connected to their traditions. Theater remains an important art form for understanding a culture and society.
Modern playwrights use theater to express opinions about current events, whether those events are cultural or political. Performing in a play or helping build sets for a production allows people, young or old, to express their creativity and learn new skills. Theater is useful for instruction as well. It helps students learn to read and think critically.”
