University Of Sindh Organizes Excellence Awards Ceremony For Outstanding Students

The management of University of Sindh Jamshoro Tuesday organized a spectacular ceremony to confer excellence awards - 2017 on top- scoring ten students from each class of nine departments/ institutes from the Faculties of Arts and Islamic Studies.
HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Sep, 2018 ) :The management of University of Sindh Jamshoro Tuesday organized a spectacular ceremony to confer excellence awards - 2017 on top- scoring ten students from each class of nine departments/ institutes from the Faculties of Arts and Islamic Studies.
The Bureau of Students Tutorial, Counseling Co-curricular and Guidance Services (STAGS) of the varsity hosted the ceremony, which presided over by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Fateh Muhammad Burfat while SSP Jamshoro Bashir Ahmed Brohi attended the event as special guest.
According to university spokesman, the awards were conferred on a total of 440 students. The departments that belonged to both Faculties included Institute of Art and Design, Institute of English Language and Literature, Institute of Languages, Departments of Philosophy, Sindhi, urdu, Comparative Religion, Islamic Culture and Muslim History.
The Vice Chancellor in his presidential remarks said that all prestigious higher education institutions in the country conferred such awards. "By introducing this trend for very first time in the annals of Sindh University, we have brought the varsity at par with its sister institutions in Pakistan," he opined.
Dr. Burfat said that varsities were known by the quality of students and teachers who served as most important pivots of the same. "This award is, in fact, a sincere recognition of the arduous academic endeavor of students and passionate devoted input of the teachers," he observed.
The Vice Chancellor said that he was glad to see great number of girl students clinching the top slots; which he termed as realization of Quid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah's statement expressed by him at the eve of inauguration of Government Girls College, Lahore; in which he had said that no nation would ever be able to progress lest its women actively participated in the mainstream development.
Dr. Burfat said, "Sindh University students have proved their mettle not merely at the varsity itself but also at national and global platforms; which, I stress bespeaks of their exceptional talent," he said.
The Vice Chancellor advised students to harbor falcon-like eye, insight and flight of imagination to wing their way against the opposite currents of gusty storms, which he resembled to hardships of life.
Dr. Burfat eulogized the efforts of university's ISO Cell, Bureau of STAGS and the Office of Controller of Examinations towards organizing the historic ceremony and greatly appreciated Incharge ISO Cell Dr. Ameer Ali Abro, Controller, Mr. Muhammad Ali Roshan Pathan and Director STAGS Dr. Sumera Umrani for their excellent input with reference to the context.
Cumulative Grade System (CGP) score level served as the criteria for the awards, whereas; the given ceremony was the first league of the concept which will be further followed up by similar ceremonies at all remaining teaching Faculties of the University.
