Anti-Measles Campaign: Over 3.7 Mln Children Vaccinated During Two Days

Director General Health Services Punjab Dr. Munir Ahmad said a twelve day anti Measles campaign was in full swing across the province and during the last two days a total of 3,712,006 children of 6 month to 7 years of age had been vaccinated.
LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Oct, 2018 ) :Director General Health Services Punjab Dr. Munir Ahmad said a twelve day anti Measles campaign was in full swing across the province and during the last two days a total of 3,712,006 children of 6 month to 7 years of age had been vaccinated.
He said skilled workers were executing their duties with dedication and professional zeal, due to which access coverage beyond the target was carried out.
Giving details, the DG health informed that the two day target was fixed at 3,341,136 but the vaccination teams of the Health department vaccinated 3,712,006 children thus achieving a target of 111 percent.
Dr. Munir Ahmad shared data of few big districts and told that during the last two days skilled workers teams inoculated 372,556 children in Lahore, 161,402 in Multan, 166,321 in Rawalpindi, 250,892 in Faisalabad, 107,994 in Bahawalpur and 178,316 children had been vaccinated in Gujranwala.
The DG Health was of the view that the vaccine which was being used in this campaign was of International Standard and WHO certified.
He said the same measles vaccine was not only being used in other provinces but the other countries were also using the same vaccine which is safe and of the best quality.
