12 Reports Of Different Bodies Presented In The Senate

Twelve reports of different issues were presented in the Upper House of the Parliament by the chairmen of relevant Standing Committees on Monday
Senator A Rehman Malik Chairman, Standing Committee on Interior presented the reports including report of the Standing Committee on a point of public importance raised by Senator Dilawar Khan on 30th August, 2018, regarding the delay in renewal of Arms Licenses by the Federal Government and report on a point of public importance raised by Senator Muhammad Usman Khan Kakar on 31st August, 2018, regarding kidnapping of two persons from Peshawar.
Senator A Rehman Malik, Chairman, Standing Committee on Interior, presented reports of the Standing Committee on a point of public importance raised by Senator Sitara Ayaz on 18th September, 2018 regarding the protection of street children in Islamabad and report of the Standing Committee on a point of public importance raised by Senator Muhammad Usman Khan Kakar on 9th November, 2018, regarding abduction of a girl from Sargodha.
Likewise, Senator A Rehman Malik, Chairman, Standing Committee on Interior, presented yet another report of the Standing Committee on the Day Care Centres Bill, 2018, introduced by Senator Quratulain Marri, on 12th November, 2018 and the report of the Standing Committee on the Exit from Pakistan (Control) (Amendment) Bill, 2018, introduced by Senator Mian Raza Rabbani, on 12th November, 2018.
Senator Mohsin Aziz, Chairman, Standing Committee on Petroleum, presented report of the Standing Committee on a point of public importance raised by Senator Quratulain Marri on 16th November, 2018, regarding sale of shares by M/S Premier Oil Pakistan Holding B.V.
Senator Mohsin Aziz, Chairman, Standing Committee on Petroleum, presented report of the Standing Committee on a point of public importance raised by Senator Imamuddin Shouqeen on 14th December, 2018, regarding suspension of gas supply in Sindh.
Senator Mohsin Aziz, Chairman, Standing Committee on Petroleum, presented report of the Standing Committee on Calling Attention Notices and Adjournment Motion (clubbed together) which were moved by Senators Mir Kabeer Ahmed Muhammad Shahi, Sherry Rehman, Mian Muhammad Ateeq Shaikh and Sassui Palijo on 19th December, 2018, regarding shortage of gas supply in Kalat, Mastung and Ziarat and gas load shedding in Sindh.
Senator Sherry Rehman presented report of the Standing Committee on a point of public importance raised by Senator Gianchand on 25th September, 2018, regarding a newspaper report highlighting the involvement of some PIA officers in smuggling and money landering.
She presented the report on behalf of Chairman, Standing Committee on Aviation Mushahid Ullah Khan. Senator Faisal Javed, Chairman, Standing Committee on Information, Broadcasting, National History and Literary Heritage, presented report of the Standing Committee on a point of public importance raised by Senator Muhammad Ali Khan Saif on 28th August, 2018, regarding derogatory remarks against Pashtoons in a Private tv Channel program.
Senator Faisal Javed, Chairman, Standing Committee on Information, Broadcasting, National History and Literary Heritage, presented report of the Standing Committee on a point of public importance raised by Senator Muhammad Usman Khan Kakar on 18th September, 2018, regarding disrespect of Pashtoons in an advertisement.
Meanwhile Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani referred the Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2018 amendments of Article 260 to Senate Standing Committee on Law and Justice for vetting and fine tuning.
The Bill has been moved by Senator Naseebullah Bazai. Highlighting main points of the Bill, Bazai said President, Governors are barred to take part in elections after leaving their posts.
This deprive the country from benefitting from their rich experiences, he added.
The Bill is being presented to allow President and Governor to participate in the elections immediately after leaving the coveted posts.
The Chairman referred another Bill The Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2018 to Standing Committee of Law and Justice. The Bill is moved by Senator Siraj ul Haq and Senator Mushtaq Ahmed.
Chairman referred another Bill moved by Senator Ateeq Shaikh titled The Compulsory Blood Test of Spouses and Proposed Spouses for Thalassaemia Diseas Bill, 2018 to relevant committee for further consideration.
