Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan said that they are very honest and independent judges
Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 20th September, 2018) Pakistan People's Party (PPP) leader and senior lawyer Aitzaz Ahsan has lauded Islamabad High Court (IHC) judges Athar Minallah and Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb.
A two-member IHC bench comprising Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb on Wednesday gave the judgment on petitions filed by Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Capt (retd) Safdar challenging the Avenfield verdict against them.
Speaking about the judges, Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan said that they are very honest. Such independent judiciary cannot be found in the history of Pakistan.
They are unique and fully implement the law.
About the verdict in favour of the Sharif family, Ahsan said that this is a short verdict, we’ll know when the detailed verdict is revealed.
He said that I know them personally and there can be no hitches in their verdict.
The IHC on Wednesday suspended conviction of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar awarded by National Accountability Court in Avenfield corruption reference and ordered their release.
