Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Khan Afridi on Wednesday said that Ashura is an occasion for paying respect to the martyrs of Karbala and is observed all over the world with solidarity.

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Sep, 2018 ) :Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Khan Afridi on Wednesday said that Ashura is an occasion for paying respect to the martyrs of Karbala and is observed all over the world with solidarity.

On this occasion, it is very important to remember the sacrifices made to uphold the name of islam that serve as an example for all humanity, a statement issued by Ministry of Interior here on Wednesday said.

This year on the special instructions of Prime Minister Imran Khan, a complete security plan has been formulated by the Ministry of Interior to ensure safety of processions and general public, he said The ministry will ensure complete support of the Federal government and all the state institutions to ensure law and order in the land.

He said the prime minister wished to emphasize on the collective responsibility of all federal and provincial institutions to ensure safety of every citizen of Pakistan.

The minister said: "We must also remember that it is also the responsibility of all citizens of Pakistan to support the security forces in ensuring successful execution of their duties," he said.

He said that all the agencies were responsible for assuring national security and needed support from the citizens to respect all communities, religions, castes, creed and colour.

The citizens and institutions needed to work together as one force to defeat all anti-state elements with nefarious designs against the State of Pakistan,he stated.
