
CDA Submits Lease Cancellation Notification Of Grand Hyatt Hotel In

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd August, 2016) : The Capital Development Authority (CDA) submitted before the Islamabad High Court (IHC) the lease cancellation notification of the multi story under construction Grand Hyatt Hotel located at Constitution Avenue in the Capital. A single judge bench of Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani heard the plea moved by Grand Hyatt Hotel owners challenging sealing of the building by CDA. During the course of proceedings, Malik Qamer Afzal counsel for the petitioner requested the court to direct CDA authorities not to demolish the physical structure of the Hotel till the decision of the petition. Meanwhile, CDA counsel Kashif Ali Malik, submitted notification for the cancellation of the 99 years lease of the hotel, earlier awarded to the BNP (Private) Limited and informed the bench that the hotel management had violated CDA bylaws as property worth of billions including 260 flates of the building were sold out.
He said civics body terminated the lease in accordance with law as neither court barred in this regard nor CDA laws showed any flexibility. Kashif Ali Malik, further maintained that the petitioner created third party interest without adhering to the CDA by-laws. Subsequently, the bench while remarking wait for order adjourned the case.
