Distt Admin Launches Anti-encroachment Operation At Embankments

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th july,2016) : The district administration launched a comprehensive anti encroachment operation at various embankments at river Chenab and also got cases registered against illegal occupants. The district administration have warned illegal occupants at different embankments namely head Muhammadwala, Akbar Embankment and Band-Bosan embankment, to refrain from encroachment.
Following direction from DCO Nadir Chathha, Assistant Commissioner Sadar Ataul Haq along with heavy machinery and crew reached the embankments. The team razed different structures including houses, shops and cattle pens. All the embankments are being reinforced in order to avoid flood losses.
According to official sources, there was no threat of flood, however, they are alert to cope with any flood situation.
