ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Oct, 2017 ) :Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday decided to scrutinize itself the accounts details of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), which were submitted before the commission by PTI.
A four member bench headed by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza while hearing the foreign funding case against the PTI chief, said that the ECP will examine the 'details' submitted by the PTI and not share them with anyone until the matter is decided by the high court.
PTI's counsel Saqlain Haider informed the commission that the matter was being heard in the Islamabad High Court, which will hear the case on December 5. PTI lawyer remarked that ECP can review the details but it should hide it from everyone including petitioner.
Petitioner Akbar Babar's counsel submitted additional documents claiming that the PTI's submitted funding details were bogus and incomplete and requested the commission to cross check them with those submitted in the Supreme Court.
The commission adjourned the hearing til November 21. Later, talking to media outside the ECP, founding member PTI Akbar S Babar said that there was no money trail of foreign funding submitted by the PTI.
He said that they have not only tampered the evidence but they were now changing records of companies in the US that were established for their fund-raising. "I will write a letter to the US ambassador requesting the US government to investigate these fake companies.
He claimed that the donors of Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital have been listed as PTI donors. He said that Imran Khan 's disqualification is the logical conclusion of these cases.
