Police said on Friday that former member of Capital Development Authority (CDA) Brigadier (Retd) Asad Munir was found dead at Diplomatic Enclave in Islamabad
LAHORE (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / NNI - 15th March, 2019) Police said on Friday that former member of Capital Development Authority (CDA) Brigadier (Retd) Asad Munir was found dead at Diplomatic Enclave in Islamabad.Police hinted the death as suspected suicide as Asad Munir was worried for an ongoing investigation against him by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).'It is pertinent to mention here that the ex-CDA member was facing allegations for restoring of plots in F-11 area of the Federal capital.Munir's dead body has been shifted to PIMS Hospital by the police officials.The dead body has been handed over to Munir's son as relatives arrived in at PIM Hospital, however, the autopsy was not carried out after rejection from his family members.PIMS spokesperson said that Asad Munir's relatives have not permitted for conducting post-mortem to the hospital administration.
The autopsy has been stopped by Deputy Commissioner Islamabad over the request of the family.When asked about the death, son of the deceased said, "It comes to my knowledge in [Friday] morning; I don't know what is this matter."Police said that personnel have recovered his dead body from Diplomatic Enclave in Islamabad.
Further investigation was underway to determine actual reasons behind Munir's death, police officials said.Pakistan People's Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari expressed sorrow and condolence to the family of the deceased.
He said the reports regarding the death of Asad Munir were so upsetting'.He added, "I pray that all mighty Allah gives his family strength to cope in this difficult time." NNI
