NA Pays Tribute To Shuhada, Ghazis Of 1965 War

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -6th Sept,2016) : Members of the National Assembly (MNAs) from both treasury and opposition benches Tuesday paid glowing tribute to the Shuhada (martyred) and Ghazis of 1965 War, who had valiantly defeated the nefarious designs of India.
Speaking on a point of order, Shazia Marri of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) said the sacrifices rendered by the Pakistan armed forces to safeguard the country's frontiers must be acknowledged. Sheikh Salahuddin of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) said the sacrifices rendered by the Pakistan Army would be remembered for ever.
He said the contribution of Pakistan Air Force and Pakistan Navy was also appreciable. Sahibzada Tariq Ullah of Jamaat-e-Islami said the sacrifices of the Pakistan Army for defence of the motherland could not be forgotten.
He also condemned hanging of Jamaat-e-Islami members in Bangladesh and said the agreement signed between Pakistan and Bangladesh must be honoured. Paying tribute to the armed forces, Capt (r) Muhammad Safdar of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, said, "We solute the martyred of 1965 War." He said wars were imposed on Pakistan in 1948 and 1965.
India had attacked Pakistan to divert the attention of world from the Kashmir issue at that time. He said services of the Pakistan Army for the motherland would be remembered forever. He said the 'Canadian Maulvi', who used to come on a bicycle to Ittefaq Foundry Masjid, should be asked from where he had earned billions of rupees.
He said no one would be allowed to derail democracy in the country. Siraj Muhammad Khan said the way Pakistan Army had responded to the Indian attack on September 6, 1965 was historical. PPP's Fehmida Mirza said the Pakistan Army's sacrifices for the motherland would be remembered forever.
She said it was the responsibility of the Speaker to remain neutral. Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab Ahmad said it was the need of hour that all the constitutional institutions and political forces should come on one platform to take the country forward and make the future of coming generations bright.
He said the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was working to steer the country out of crises. It was the vision of Prime Minister to provide employment to the youth, shelter to the poor, education opportunities for all and better medical health facilities for the people.
Sheikh Aftab said the government was highlighting the Kashmir issue at all international forums. He pointed out that delegations were being sent to various countries for the purpose. He said law and order situation had significantly improved in the country as a result of the operation against terrorists.
The minister paid glowing tributes to the martyrs of 1965 War and those who had lost their lives the war against terrorism.
