NDMA Directs PDMAs For Taking Necessary Measurers To Avoid Losses

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th August, 2016) :National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) on Monday directed Provincial Disaster Management Authorities (PDMAs) to take necessary measures to avoid loss of life and damage to property especially in vulnerable areas of their respective provinces. "All rescue and relief agencies, departments are required to remain ready to respond at a short notice" said a press release. According to NDMA, temperature in Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral has risen by 3 to 4 C during the last few days.
Moreover, due to expected rainfall during this week snow melting process can rise which may affect vulnerable areas of Chitral and sub-basins of GB such as Gilgit, Hunza, Nagar, Ghizer, Shigar, Shigar, Shingo Shyok etc. The NDMA asked local communities to remain alert and concern authorities to take precautionary measures. Any damage to life and property, infrastructure must be reported immediately authorities concerned about occurrence of any untoward incident.
