Pakistan Welcomes UN HC's Statement On IoK

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 04th Oct, 2016 ) : Pakistan Tuesday welcomed a statement of the spokesman for the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights expressing serious concerns over the human rights situation in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir (IoK).
The UN HC also reiterated the call for unfettered and unconditional access to Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir to enable it to independently and impartially monitor the human rights situation.
In a statement, the spokesman expressing concern on the rising tensions between India and Pakistan, urged them to engage in a dialogue and to de-escalate the situation. "We stand ready to support efforts to de-escalate the situation," the Foreign Office quoted the spokesman as saying.
