People from different walks of life have condoled the demise of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz who expired on Tuesday, while being treated in London.
KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Sep, 2018 ) :People from different walks of life have condoled the demise of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz who expired on Tuesday, while being treated in London.
They were of unanimous opinion that the lady, wife of former Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, had not only earned well deserved respect for the courageous stance she adopted in 1999 but also retained the same in the following years.
Senior journalist and Resident Director, Aurat Foundation (Sindh), Mehnaz Rehman said despite being an apolitical person she braved odds during extremely tough times in the life of her husband.
"What many people do not know that with a masters degree in urdu literature she was also the first speech writer for her husband in the early years of his political life," said the activist.
"In a nut shell I would say she was a brave woman and a faithful wife as well as a devoted home maker" said Mehnaz mentioning that who can ever forget that her vehicle was actually crane lifted to prevent her joining the protestors.
Dr. Farhat Rehman, associated with a private university said the lady though kept a low profile under regular circumstance but managed to prove her mettle when PML (N) appeared to be leaderless.
"Kulsoom Nawaz successfully managed to inform the world that a traditional Pakistani woman was confident and brave enough to protect her family even under most difficult conditions," she said.
Abdul Yasin, a political worker OF Pakistan Muslim League (N) said Kulsoom was above all a good human being who was unconditionally respected by all sections of the country's extremely diverse political spectrum.
"It was definitely her character as well as humility that turned her to be a lovable person for the masses in general," he said.
