Provincial Assembly KP Body Directs To Take Up Issue Of Non-acceptance Of Token Tax Of Vehicles In CCI

A meeting of the Standing Committee on Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control of the Provincial Assembly Tuesday here directed the department concerned to take up the issue of non-acceptance of the token tax of the registered vehicles deposited in the KP in the Council of Common Interest (CCI)

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Jan, 2019 ) :A meeting of the Standing Committee on Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control of the Provincial Assembly Tuesday here directed the department concerned to take up the issue of non-acceptance of the token tax of the registered vehicles deposited in the KP in the Council of Common Interest (CCI).

The meeting was chaired by Chairman of the Committee Aurangzeb Nalotha and attended by MPAs Sardar Hussain Babak, Mufit Obaidur Rehman, Pukhtoon Yar, Fakhr Jehan, Shaukat Ali and Mohtarma Samia Sahiba.

The meeting directed the Excise and Taxation Department to prepare a case of the province for presentation in the CCI meeting as to why the token tax deposited by owners of the registered vehicles in KP was not accepted in the centre and other provinces.

Secretary Excise and Taxation briefed the meeting about the performance and responsibilities of the department. Various issues came under discussion during the meeting including improving process of vehicles registration in the province and provincial receipts.

The committee directed the department to launch a campaign in the province motivating the people to register their vehicles so that maximum number of people registered their vehicles in the province.
