PTI Candidates Seek Recount On 4 Constituencies Of Hyderabad

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Jul, 2018 ) :The candidates of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) who contested on NA 225, NA 226, NA 227 and PS 67 Constituencies in Hyderabad have filed applications to the respective Returning Officers (ROs) for the vote recount.
The head of Jamat-e-Ulema-e-Pakistan (Noorani) Sahibzada Abul Khair Muhammad Zubair, who was also a candidate from NA 227, also submitted application for recount.
According to details, PTI's candidate on NA 225 Khawand Bux Jahejo, who was polled 50,968 votes against 81,983 of the Pakistan Peoples Party's winning candidate Syed Tariq Hussain Shah, requested for the recount. However, the RO rejected his plea for recount citing huge difference in the votes.
However, the PTI's candidate for NA 226 Jamshed Ali Shaikh won approval of the RO for the recount which would be conducted on Saturday morning. Shaikh secured 38,672 votes while the winning candidate of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) Sabir Hussain Qaimkhani received 46,646 votes.
The ROs are yet to take up the applications of PTI's Muhammad Hakim for NA 227 and Umaid Ali Junejo for PS 67.
The NA 227 was won by MQM-P's Salahuddin Shaikh who was polled 52053 votes while Hakim collected 41,513 votes. The JUP-N's Zubair received 20,509 votes, the third highest, in NA 227.
Junejo was balloted 13,486 votes while the winner from the constituency, MQM-P's Nasir Hussain Qureshi, obtained 22,329 votes.
