Rehman Malik For Joint Strategy To Meet Economic Challenges

Pakistan Peoples Party's Senator Rehman Malik Monday proposed the government and the opposition to evolve a joint strategy in the larger national interest for coping with the challenges being faced by the country.

Talking to media persons here outside the Parliament House, he said the government should focus on strengthening economy and fighting poverty to improve the economic conditions of the poor segments of society. Both the opposition and the government should develop consensus for resolving the economic challenges, he added.

He said the economic crisis could affect the lives of people if concerted measures were not taken to improve the situation.

Replying to a question, he strongly condemned the recent bloodshed in Indian occupied Kashmir. Pakistan should approach the United Nations Commission on Human Rights in that regard, he added.
