Pakistan Peoples Party senior leader and Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Interior Senator A. Rehman Malik on Tuesday strongly reacted and condemned the unwarranted and unsubstantiated allegations made against Pakistan by US President Donald Trump in his tweets.
He said that Pakistan has always helped US but US administrations have been playing unfair with Pakistan and the tweets have hurt Pakistanis particularly the families of the martyrs.
Senator A. Rehman Malik has challenged the US President Donald Trump to a public debate saying that he will prove him (President Donald Trump) wrong about his thoughts against Pakistan and will tell the world who created and funded Taliban, Al-Qaeda and Daish/Jehadis. He asked that the world should be told who destroyed Iraq and Syria and advised US President Donald Trump to see the old files before tweeting.
Senator A. Rehman Malik stated, "No country has suffered more than Pakistan in US sponsored war on terror which destroyed our peace, infrastructure and economy. We have suffered 75,000 casualties so far in war on terror and Pakistan has always supported US." He said perhaps the US President was misinformed as factually the request for assistance in war against terrorism was made by USA and Pakistan accepted the request in a friendly gesture but it cost massively. He said that by such tweets, President Donald Trump has hurt families of more than 75,000 innocent Pakistanis who sacrificed their lives in US war on terror.
Senator A. Rehman Malik said that US must remember that survival of Pakistan is never dependent on US aid as Pakistan has lost a total of $188 Billion due to this war while USA still owes us $155 billion plus the cost of blocking our commercial airspace. He added that fair calculation indicates that USA still owes to Pakistan and Pakistan has the right to ask for this amount.
He said that the US assistance to Pakistan is named CSF which was reimbursed to Pakistan for expenses already incurred in joint operations and provision of logistics and compensation for airspace, land and sea services has not been claimed yet by Pakistan.
In a tweet, Senator A. Rehman Malik stated, "Mr. Donald Trump! Pakistan has been doing great for your country (US) starting from allowing you airbases in Pakistan and then full support in your own way against USSR and then post 9/11. Osama Bin Laden was your baby (US') and was used against USSR and you left him with Yousaf Ramzi in Pakistan and Pakistan had to clear this mess".
Senator A. Rehman Malik has asked US President Donald Trump to apologize to the bereaved families of 75,000 innocent Pakistanis who sacrificed their lives in 'war on terror'.
Senator A. Rehman Malik said no country in the world would trust the US friendship after such assertions by the US President Donald Trump despite our sacrifices in war against terrorism. "I am a witness to it being former interior minister of Pakistan for five years as I had fought war against terrorism on front line."Malik advised Trump not to settle personal grudges with his own American opponents using Pakistan and by terming the former administration foolish.
Senator Rehman Malik also stated that there was a lesson for Pakistan to not jump in others' wars adding General Zia favored USA vs. Soviet Union resultantly, "We lost our soldiers and innocent people and also destroyed our infrastructure and giving our coming generations the culture of drug and Kalashnikov." He said, "US President Donald Trump is now cursing us instead of thanking us."
