ISLAMABAD, Nov 8 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 08th Nov, 2016 ) : The Supreme Court on Tuesday adjourned hearing of the NA-110 election matter till Wednesday. A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali and comprising Justice Amir Hani Muslim and Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan heard the case filed by Usman Dar against the Election Tribunal verdict.
It may be mentioned that Defence Minister Khawaja Asif won election from NA-110 Sialkot constituency on Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) in general election 2013. His rival Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Usman Dar challenged his victory before the Election Tribunal.
The ET dismissed Dar's petition. Later, he filed petition in Supreme Court against the ET verdict. During the course of proceedings, petitioner's Dr Babar Awan informed the court that according to the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) report, around 50,000 votes were bogus while there was a margin of 20,000 votes between the two candidates.
He said that the tribunal had dismissed his client's petition on technical grounds. On which Justice Hani remarked that bogus votes were mentioned in the NADRA report but it was not stated to whom these votes were casted.
