Security Arrangements Require Ulema Cooperation :DCO

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Nov, 2016 ) : District Coordination Officer (DCO), Talat Mehmood Gondal Thursday stressed the need for utilizing all available resources for maintaining religious harmony, brotherhood and peace on Chelum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA).
He said this while presiding over a meeting of the District Peace Committee here at his office, which was also attended by City Police Officer CPO, Israr Ahmed Abbasi, SSP operation Irfan Tariq eminent scholars of different sects including Syed Izhar Bukhari, Chirag udin shah and officials of the district administration.
He appreciated their role for promoting religious harmony and unity during Muharram.
The DCO speaking on the occasion said security arrangements for Chelum were underway and security in the entire district would be beefed up to maintain law and order keeping in view the terrorist attack in Balochistan at the shrine of Shah Noorani.
He said a foolproof plan would be evolved to monitor security arrangements during processions. "Maintaining religious harmony is a religious obligation for religious scholars and Sectarian unity is need of the hour," he added. He said security arrangements by the police could only be successful with the cooperation of Ulema and civil society.
