Senate Body On Interior To Get Complaints Against Land Grabbers,

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Nov, 2016 ) : The Senate's Standing Committee on Interior and Narcotics Control Tuesday announced that people could approach it for complaints against land grabbers and housing societies to get them addressed.
Chairing a committe meeting here, Senator Rehman Malik said there had been reports that housing societies were playing foul with the innocent citizens and selling forged files. The housing societies were also allegedly selling plots to the citizens in excess of the total land they possessed due to which buyers were suffering a lot, he added.
Minister of State for Interior Baligh-ur-Rehman, senators Shahi Syed, Col (Retd) Syed Tahir Hussain Mashadi, Dr Jehanzeb Jamaldini and Syed Shibli Faraz, and senior officials of Ministry of Interior and Law Division attended the meeting.
The committee conditionally accorded approval to Criminal Law (Amendment) Bill, 2016 which was moved by Minister of State for Interior and passed by the National Assembly. Discussing the amendments, Rehman Malik said those who were involved in hate speech should be severely punished.
Under the bill, those involved in registration of false FIR and giving false information would be punished and fined. The other amendments proposed included that electronic devices would be accepted as legal evidence while punishment against officers showing negligence would be enhanced.
Rehman Malik also formed a sub-committee to review a bill to prevent corporal punishment to children in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT). The committee condemned the attack on Frontier Constabulary (FC) in Peshawar and expressed grief and sorrow over martyrdom of its personnel in the incident.
The committee offered Fateha for the departed souls. In response to a question, Baligh-ur-Rehman said Pak-Turk schools were not being closed. However, Rehman Malik directed the authorities concerned to brief the committee about issue of Pak-Turk schools in next meeting. He recommended that an appointment of a female member be made in National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA).
