Students Visit Military Units, Formations

LAHORE,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Augst,2016) : A group of 100 students and faculty members from KIPS Intermediate Girls College Lahore spent a day-out visiting various military units and formations of Pakistan Army at Lahore Garrison on Thursday.
According to ISPR, the day-long programme was specifically organised to enlighten students on routine functioning of Pakistan Army, its organisation and defence capability. `Know your Army' programme has been exclusively initiated for the youth on instructions of Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif.
The programme started with wreath laying ceremony and dua at Yadgar-e-Shuhada, followed by a demonstration by Quick Response Force. The students also visited an infantry and armour battalion and witnessed arms and equipment display including small arms fire.
The day long programme culminated at flag lowering ceremony at Ganda Singhwala border check post, Kasur. The smart turnout and bearing combined with immaculate drills by troops of Pakistan Rangers amidst charged crowd further added to the enthusiasm and feelings of patriotism of students.
They evinced keen interest and commended sacrifices rendered by Pakistan Army officers and troops in the ongoing war against terror. They appreciated the state of morale, commitment and professional competence of Pak Army and thanked the Army Chief for providing them a life time experience and opportunity.
