Mystical musical performance of Karakoram enthralls audience at PNCA

An awakening evening 'Mystical Musical colors of Karakoram' gripped and enthralled a big audience of Sufi music lovers to reject extremism and embrace peace and love held in Islamabad the previous day

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Jan, 2018 ) :An awakening evening 'Mystical Musical colors of Karakoram' gripped and enthralled a big audience of Sufi music lovers to reject extremism and embrace peace and love held in Islamabad the previous day.

It was organized by Burushaski Research academy in collaboration with Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA). One hundred musicians hailed from Gilgit Chitral,Hunza,Lahore,Karachi,London and Canada mostly young educated girls with Rababs,dafs, Alghoza and fluits presented Sufi Kalam with mystical music' in traditional dress and enthralled the diverse audience of ladies, gents and youngsters.

The organizers, musicians and audience through expression of their love for Sufi music called for revival of a society based on principles laid down by father of the nation, pluralism,unity of humanity and respect for all to give soft image of our beloved mother land to the world.

Renowned Sufi Singers,Mehr Angez,Barkat Ali,Ambareen and Abid Karim spellbound the audience with their performance of' mystical kalam of noted Sufi poet Allama Nasiruddin Hunzai in urdu ,Burushaski and Farsi.

Kalam, Ase Takht and [Ye tera ishq mujhe he sharab se behtar-Shamime kochai janaan gulab se behtar] was highly appreciated by the audience.Other leading artists were Gul Bahar, ,Farzand Ali,Shaheena, Zoha from London, Anwar Khan,Imran Ali Madad, Khoshdill, noted Alghoza player Akbar Khimiso and renowned fluit player Niaz Qutoshi.His kalam full of spiritual glimpses calls for peace and love, unity of humanity, efforts for integrity of Pakistan and distancing from all kind of extremism.

Yet another purpose of the evening was to preserve and revival of traditional music which after floods of modernization and imported cultures is on the verge of extinction. Chairman Pakistan Academy of Letters Dr.

Qasim Bughio who was the Chief guest said this reflects the rich and diversified culture and mystic tradition of Pakistan.He described first of its kind to bring one hundred instrumentalists and Sufi singers in a musical gathering mostly youngsters and attracting such a huge audience.

He appreciated the themes of celebrated scholar and Sufi poet Nasir Hunzai for creating spiritual and intellectual awareness among masses and promoting sufi tradition in the country.Dr.Mohammad Iqbal,Minister for Works government of Gilgit Baltistan who presided the gathering said terrorists attack sufi shrines and their tradition as they promote love and peace.He said Allama Nasiruddin Hunzai as a� practical sufi worked for spreading love and peace for all and added that� his literary services will long be remembered.

Noted Scholar Dr.Faquir Mohammad Hunzai from London,prominent social scientist Dr.Shahid Mehmood, scholar Shahnaz Salim,Dr.Robina Barolia,Dr.Parveen Ashraf, Ishrat zaheer(London) and columnist Ghulam Qadir Baig in their papers highlighted various shades of Fikar-I Nasiri unfolding his spiritual poetic themes.

They said Sufi tradition with music has the potential to bring unity among segments of our divided society,create tolerance and get rid of extremism and terrorism. However emphasis of the evening was on performance of the works of the mystics which according to organizers is well found in spiritual poetry coupled with sufi music in an environment of sky-kissing mountains of the Northern region which is also called roof of the world.

Other prominent Sufi personalities who promoted the spirit of Mysticism in the Karakoram region are Baba Naseer Chilasi, Syed Abul Qasim Khwansari,Syed Shah Sultan Alif, Syed Amir Kabir Hamdan and Syed jamali Shah of Chatorkhand.
