DG Sports KP honors national junior badminton champions with cash incentives

Director General Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Junaid Khan on behalf of Minister Sports KP Atif Khan Saturday honored national junior badminton players with cash incentives who attained National U-14 and National U-16 titles during the National Badminton Championship held in Lahore recently.

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Nov, 2018 ) :Director General Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Junaid Khan on behalf of Minister Sports KP Atif Khan Saturday honored national junior badminton players with cash incentives who attained National U-14 and National U-16 titles during the National Badminton Championship held in Lahore recently.

Besides him internationally known Pakistani calligrapher (Sitara Imtiaz) Muhammad Elahi Bakhash Modi, Deputy Director Youth Aziz Ullah Jan, Director Development Niamat Ullah Marwat, President KP Badminton Association Zafar Ali Khan, Secretary KP Badminton Association Haji Muhammad Amjad, coaches Nadeem Nadeem Khan, Hayat Ullah and Kashif Nawaz, large number of badminton players were also present.

The aim and object of holding the honoring reception is to please the upcoming Champions Omar Khan and Qari Adnan who won National Under-14 and National Under-16 titles this year, Junaid Khan told the gathering.

He said on the strongly recommendation of the Minister Sports KP Atif Khan Rs. 100,000 each has been approved for both the Championships while Rs. 60,000 each for Abdullah and Zubair Shah who won silver medal in the National Under-18 Championship. He also announced Rs.

60,000 for Hayat Ullah and Kashif Nawaz, two coaches and commendations certificate to the Directorate of Sports Coach Nadeem Khan.

Addressing the ceremony, DG Sports Junaid Khan said steps are being taken to promote outdoor events. He said all resources would be utilized to facilitate the players so that they could come up at national and international levels.

He said like badminton, steps have been taken to upgrade the overall standard of the playing fields, courts and above all ensuring provision of much updated sports equipments.

He said more than 55 new coaches in all games would be inducted very soon for which all documentations have been completed.

He said very soon a reception for all those medal winners at the Inter-Provincial Games, National Junior and Senior Championships would be organized for which Minister Sports KP would be invited.

The players of badminton on this occasion presented traditional turban along with international calligrapher Muhammad Elahi Bakhash Modi besides distributing cash incentives among the upcoming Champions. He said badminton courts have been developing according to the international standards and that is why work on provision of badminton court mat are currently in progress besides equipping each of the divisional headquarter with shuttle-gun. On the request of former badminton player and known calligrapher of Pakistan Muhammad Elahi Bakhash Modi, DG Sports announced a national level badminton championship would be organized in Haripur, Swat, Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan.

President KP Badminton Association Zafar Ali Khan on this occasion thanked Minister Sports KP Atif Khan and DG Sports KP Junaid Khan for encouraging the new Champions with cash incentives.

He assured that KP Badminton Association and its coaches would keep on moving and search out new faces in the game so that they could come up and achieve name and fame for the province and Pakistan at national and international levels.

He said there is no dearth of talent in the province but the players of all games need due coaching under qualified coaches and encouragement on the part of the govt.
